We are currently looking for a Shipwright to join our expanding team of dedicated craftsmen for our busy boatyard.
This is a great opportunity assisting us in repairing, refurbishing and refitting various Military and Commercial vessels. This work is mainly carried out at our Gosport site.
The role will also require you to undertake a DBS check to gain a Dockyard pass, to assist with our Waterfront Support Team at the Marine Police Unit. Very occasionally you may be required to work at other waterfront sites around the UK.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
· Knowledge of maintenance and repairs of various commercial vessels.
· Experience working with wood, composite as well as various other materials
· Good organisational skills coupled with problem solving capabilities
· Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks
· Capable of working on your own and as part of a team
· The ability to work to high standards and take responsibility for your work
· A flexible attitude, as you may be asked to carry out various yard duties including assisting other trades.
· Good time keeping
· Experience in the Marine industry
This is a full-time permanent position with 23 days annual leave increasing by 1 day for every 2 years of service up to 25 days. Plus bank holidays .
Pay rate £17.23 per hour
