Job title – Shop Assistant
Basic Rate – £12.21 per hour
Work Pattern – 40 hours per week, Variable hour contract
Location – London SW11 7DE (Nine Elms - Battersea area)
This is an exciting opportunity to join Tian Tian Market. As a Shop Assistant you will provide excellent customer service, replenish/manage stock, assist with deliveries & follow store procedures/polices.
You will need to be self-motivated & have a positive, successful attitude. Experience working in a similar retail role is essential.
We are looking for long term staff who want to grow their career with the company.
You will report to the Managers, Supervisors & Senior staff
This is a full-time role & you must be available to work 5 days, 40 hours per week. Please no part-time applications at this time.
Nine Elms is our new store, which will open at the end of June 2025.
Potential candidates will be invited to an interview face to face with the Manager & one hour of experience shift at the Russell Square Store. Training period provided for those who are successful at the Canary Wharf Store.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Previous retail/customer experience (Essential).
  • Bilingual English & Mandarin speaking (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of Easy Asian & South East Asian food products (Desirable)
  • Excellent customer service
  • Having a friendly and engaging personality.
  • Comfortable working & communicating with members of the public.
  • Should have a positive manner.
  • Must be helpful and polite.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of inventory or merchandising techniques (Desirable).
  • Experience receiving large quantities of stock.
    You must have eligibility to work on the UK.
Responsibilities
  • Consistently provide a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Assisting shoppers to find the goods and products they are looking for.
  • Answering queries from customers.
  • Managing customer complaints.
  • Be involved in stock control and management.
  • Receiving and storing the delivery of large amounts of stock.
  • Stocking shelves correctly with merchandise.
  • Checking price labels & date checking stock on the shop floor.
  • Being responsible for processing cash and card payments.
  • Reporting discrepancies and problems to the store management.
  • Balancing cash registers with receipts.
  • Keeping the store safe and clean, this includes correctly disposing of waste, vacuuming and mopping.
  • Working within established guidelines, particularly with brands.
  • Being aware of security threats within the store and being on the lookout for shoplifters and fraudulent credit cards etc. Reporting issues to senior staff
  • Keeping up to date with special promotions and putting up displays.
