A Day in the Life of the Shop Assistant Support the Fabrication Department with sign assembly and production activities Assist the Paint Department with sanding, surface preparation, masking, and other pre-finish tasks Organize, stage, and prepare materials, parts, and supplies for upcoming projects Perform quality control inspections using company quality standards and checklists Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the facility Assist with inventory organization and material management Load, unload, and transport materials throughout the shop as needed Run local errands to pick up supplies, parts, materials, and other business-related items Work closely with multiple departments to ensure resources are available and projects remain on schedule Provide general shop support and assist with special projects as assigned A Few Qualifications This Person Must Have Ability to accurately read a tape measure Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Basic computer skills Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to work independently and as part of a team Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover all activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee for this role. Requirements Prior experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, construction, or production environment is preferred but not required Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical work for extended periods Dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision Ability to follow instructions and maintain a safe work environment Willingness to learn and assist wherever needed to support the team
Responsibilities
