What You’ll Do: The Shop Foreman manages technicians work volume and quality and conducts safety meetings. The Foreman also maintains order in the shop and is responsible for its cleanliness, organization and function. Job Duties: Management Team Duties: Updates advisors on progress of trucks Ensures quality control inspections are conducted and passed Makes questionable warranty decisions Determines warranty coverage Maintains repair comebacks to a minimum Becomes involved in complex and difficult repairs Enlists help from district service managers on complex and difficult repairs Personnel Supervisory Duties: Coordinates technicians work volume every day Assigns technicians work every day Dispatches work every day Coaches and motivates technicians to reach productivity and efficiency goals Helps team leaders develop leadership skills Safety and Security Compliance Duties: Ensures safety compliance, conducts safety meetings and trainings Ensures shop complies with all local, state and federal safety regulations Performs shop walk around to ensure shop and facility are safe and secure Shop Maintenance Duties: Ensures cleanliness of the shop Ensures organization of the shop Required Skills and Qualifications: Prior Shop Foreman experience within trucking industry preferred Prior management or supervisory experience required Strong leadership abilities Proven technical expertise Excellent customer service skills Excellent communication skills Excellent problem-solving skills Strong organizational skills Excellent time management skills Able to work in fast pace environment Work well with internal and external customers Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
