About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on and highly organized Shop Foreman to lead and support our operations. This role is responsible for mobilizing and demobilizing equipment and materials, maintaining an organized and well-stocked shop, performing repairs, and delivering equipment to job sites. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with practical mechanical skills, excellent organization, and the flexibility to adapt to the fast pace of construction and demolition projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and work alongside small crews (1–3 people)
- Organize tools, equipment, and consumables within the shop
- Maintain inventory and ensure availability of supplies
- Perform general maintenance, servicing, and repairs on tools and equipment
- Inspect and prepare tools/equipment for safe use before projects
- Deliver tools, equipment, and materials to job sites as needed
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and shop activities
- Complete and submit required paperwork in a timely manner
- Provide support on short notice and work flexible hours, including some weekends
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (required)
- Ability to operate trucks with single and double-axle trailers (including backing up)
- Physically fit; able to lift up to 50 lbs and handle construction equipment
- Skilled in the use and maintenance of tools such as cut-off saws, jackhammers, cutting torches, etc.
- Ability to operate skid steer loaders, mini excavators, scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts (asset)
- Knowledge of construction safety procedures, PPE requirements, and Hazmat processes
- Certifications in First Aid, man lift operation, and fall protection (asset)
- Strong organizational and leadership skills; reliable and punctual
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in equipment maintenance; 3 years in construction/renovation or 2 years in demolition preferred
