SHOP FORMAN – 310T MECHANIC

Our Central location is looking for a heavy diesel 310T Mechanic to join our team. This role inspects, diagnoses, troubleshoots, repairs, and verifies the repair of different equipment such as Triaxle dump trucks and pup trailers, 5th wheel tractors, live bottom trailers, small engine repairs, and repairs on heavy equipment.

EDUCATION

  • 310T Heavy Diesel Mechanic Technician certification/license
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Full G Drivers license with clean driving record
  • 3+ years of experience working with different machinery
  • Capable of working independently and as a valued team member
  • Proficient with computers
  • Experience working on multiple systems such as: engines, fuel, electrical, hydrostatic and transmission, suspension, hydraulic, transmissions, and engine management, climate control, intake exhaust and emission control, steering, braking, drive, structural components, as well as ground engaging equipment
  • Strong Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
  • Working knowledge of the Ministry of Transportation requirements regarding heavy equipment
  • Strong written, and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order following our prescribed maintenance schedule
  • Travel to job sites when a repair is required
  • Complete any necessary administrative requirements such as weekly logs
  • Openly communicate with other departments and team members
  • Conduct repairs in a timely and efficient manner
  • Adhere to all Van Bree’s health and safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment
  • Participate in all company training provided
  • Support other roles when required
  • Supervising apprentice mechanics
  • Other duties as assigned, including cleaning up the yard around the shop
