Chu Cho Industries LP. (CCI) is a resource and heavy construction company that works primarily within the forestry, mining, and transportation industries. CCI specializes in timber harvesting, transportation, resource road construction, road maintenance and operation of resource camps. CCI is based in Mackenzie BC and most works are completed within the Mackenzie TSA. CCI operates two industrial properties in Mackenzie which include an 1800 sq. ft. shop on a 5-acre lot and a modern 10,000 sq. ft. shop and office complex on a 10-acre lot. Administration, accounting, and management for CCI is based in Prince George BC.
Chu Cho Industries (CCI) Is currently looking for a Shop Hand for our Mackenzie shop. This successful candidate will be responsible for supporting shop personnel with vehicle and equipment maintenance and washing. The role will include the ability to perform general workshop duties and providing support for the mechanics with the work load..

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with pressure washing required
  • Forklift ticket preferred
  • Experience driving/operating heavy equipment and tractor trailers preferred
  • Technical training preferred
  • Valid BC Drivers License
  • 3 years experience working in shops, around vehicles and equipment
  • Work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance in the performance of all mechanical procedures
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the shop floor
  • Operate forklift to perform various duties around the shop and yard
  • Complete minor maintenance and repair work
  • Advise mechanic of work that must be completed, where the shop hand is not qualified to perform said duty
  • Lubricates equipment in accordance with established procedures and charts
  • Check and change oil, oil filters, fuel filters and air filters
  • Power wash, fuel and service vehicles
  • Move vehicles and equipment around the yard
  • Replace hoses, belts, water pumps, batteries and similar equipment and parts.
  • Check fan belts, hoses, wiper blades, batteries and other parts
  • Check water and antifreeze levels, topping up where appropriate
  • Check air in tires and adjust pressure
  • Repair flat tires and change tires as necessary
  • Maintains records of work performed and the need for future servicing.
  • Clean and maintain shop facilities and equipment
  • Drive vehicles as needed.
  • Perform other related work as required and assigned.
