Overview Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized, self motivated, detail-oriented shop inventory manager for the Composite Rapid Development team. This role plays a critical part in enabling rapid prototyping, testing, and development activities by ensuring materials, tools, and consumables are always available, inventoried, organized, and maintained. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced R&D shop environment, demonstrating a strong commitment to organization, and operational excellence. Responsibilities Implement, manage and maintain material, consumable, tool, and equipment inventory on a daily basis for CRD shop operations with up to date accurate inventory tracking. Order consumables, materials, tools, equipment at lowest cost, manage supplier relationships, inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality. Organize storage areas, manage stock rotation, and analyze turnover Generate data from inventory tracking to use in forecasting inventory needs based on shop size and project. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and storage environment Comply with all safety, quality, and operational policies Required Previous experience with inventory management; retail, warehouse, and or manufacturing HS Diploma or GED Equivalent Experience with inventory management software, Microsoft Office Ability to analyze data to optimize stock levels and identify discrepancies Strong organizational and logistics skills to manage stockroom layout and movement Effective communication skills for interacting with suppliers, technicians, and management Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced shop environment Ability to operate a forklift (certification preferred or ability to obtain) Valid driver’s license with the ability to transport materials between facilities Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs aided or unaided throughout the day Desired Experience supporting R&D, aerospace, aviation, or advanced manufacturing work environments Composite material and consumable knowledge Abrasives, cutting, grinding, painting, drilling, fastening, bonding knowledge pertaining to hardware and consumables Additional Information The target base pay for this position is $97,400 - $159,000/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
