Description Join the GBR Corporation Team! POSITION SUMMARY As our Shop Manager / CDL Driver, you’ll keep our construction crew moving. You’ll split your time between running the shop—keeping our trucks and gear in top shape—and driving out to local job sites. We’re looking for someone that can lead a team, stay organized, and jump behind the wheel to get the job done safely. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Fleet & Compliance Oversight Operational Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for CDL drivers to ensure smooth daily transitions from the shop to the field. Regulatory Compliance: Keep us road-ready by managing DOT, FMCSA, and hazmat standards, making sure our safety policies aren't just on paper, but followed in practice. Safety Leadership: Take ownership of our safety culture through regular inspections, driver coaching, and a commitment to professional excellence. Logistics & Hands-on Operations Jobsite: Partner with our foremen to time the delivery of equipment and materials perfectly, keeping projects on schedule. Material Logistics: Oversee delivery intake and load process; utilizing forklifts and heavy equipment to manage the safe loading and unloading of semi-trailers. Field Support: Make local material deliveries, vendor pickups, and waste management hauling (roll-off trailers) to maintain site productivity. Inventory Control: Monitor shop inventory levels and proactively communicate with Project Managers to prevent supply shortages. Shop & Mechanical Operations Fleet Reliability: Maintain full DOT compliance and fleet reliability by overseeing expert diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance for all vehicles and construction equipment. Preventative Maintenance: Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules to maximize uptime and extend the protect the long-term life of company assets. Vendor Relations: Manage external partnerships by coordinating specialized off-site repairs with preferred vendors. Shop Management: Take pride in a clean, organized, and professional shop environment where tools are maintained and maintenance records are kept accurate.
