As we continue to grow, we are in search of a Shop Manager to join our team. The Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Con-Pro Industries’ equipment and materials shop, ensuring that all tools, machinery, and vehicles are properly maintained, repaired, and available to meet project needs. This role involves managing inventory, coordinating repairs, and supervising shop staff to ensure efficient and safe operations. The Shop Manager will work closely with project teams to ensure the timely delivery of equipment and materials and maintain the overall functionality of the shop.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the equipment and materials shop, ensuring tools, machinery, and vehicles are properly maintained and available for project use.
  • Supervise and manage shop staff, including mechanics, technicians, and other personnel, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all tools, equipment, and vehicles, ensuring regular servicing to prevent breakdowns and extend their lifespan.
  • Coordinate repairs and servicing, both in-house and through external vendors, as needed.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and materials, and ensure they are properly organized, tracked, and stored.
  • Work closely with project teams to understand their equipment and material needs, ensuring timely delivery to project sites.
  • Ensure all shop operations comply with safety regulations and Con-Pro’s safety standards, conducting regular safety inspections and addressing any issues.
  • Manage the procurement of new tools, equipment, and parts, ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Keep records of equipment usage, repairs, and maintenance for reporting purposes and future planning.
  • Train shop staff on proper equipment use, maintenance, and safety protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to shop operations, equipment breakdowns, or delays in delivery to project sites.
  • Manages the assignment and record keeping of all company vehicles
  • Responsible for shop, grounds, and office maintenance, including proactive snow removal, ice management, and addressing seasonal site needs.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in managing a construction equipment shop or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction tools, machinery, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Experience supervising shop staff and coordinating repairs and maintenance.
  • Excellent organizational and inventory management skills.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and experience implementing safety protocols in a shop environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and external vendors.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.56-$38.03 per hour
