Summary Shop Supervisor The Shop Supervisor role will be a proven leader that provides a team concept mindset to build and unify the garage, safety driven and a productive leader. Ability to train while leading their team to success and achieve all internal and company goals. The role has administrative duties that are related to the day-to-day repair & preventive maintenance. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all repairs and preventive maintenance on all vehicles and equipment but not limited to. This includes managing the of all parts purchased, settlement of invoices. The right candidate will have excellent multi-tasking skills and verbal/written communication skills. Responsibilities: Oversee garage operations Maintain a repaired, down, scheduled reports Communicate daily task to staff to reach outlined service metrics and goals Responsible for maintaining, and processing invoices Ensuring proper parts are ordered and in inventory for necessary repairs Responsible for all garage scheduling for service repair &maintenance on all V&E and small engine repair Repair and maintain gasoline and diesel engines used to power equipment such as portable saws, lawn mowers, weed eaters, blowers, and trimmers. Adjust points, valves, carburetors, distributors, and spark plug gaps, using feeler gauges. Reassemble engines after repair or maintenance work is complete. Record repairs made, time spent, and parts used. Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and greasing parts and tuning ignition systems. Must be able to work externally in a variety of different conditions. Work with the Regional Shop Manager to create a safe and effective work environment. Work hand and hand with Regional Shop Manager and Branch Managers to create a priority repair list. Working with the Regional Shop manager to create daily work plan for mechanics. Supervise, organize, and review the work of mechanics. Select, supervise, train and evaluate mechanics. Coordinate the preparation and logistics of call outs in a timely manner. While Regional Shop Manager is unavailable, arrange for PO’s to be created for the purchase of materials. Ensure all work is documented, correct, and submitted to ensure proper tracking. Document all information on new equipment to ensure it is submitted to Fleet and Inventory Manager for tracking. Conduct final inspection of completed work before signing off to be returned to service. Coordinate and schedule logistics of part runner. Helping mechanics with documentation of work, time sheets, ordering, diagnostics and work plans. . Supervisory Shop Personnel Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently inspect the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties if this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, reach, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections. Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time. Qualifications MUST HAVE AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR EXPERIENCE +3 years of automotive repair experience -Valid Driver's License -Spanish is a big plus -Experience working on diesel engines, experience working on locomotives is great -Previous supervisory experience is preferred
