SUMMARY

The shop technician will be responsible for supporting the field operations and the drilling manager with preparing equipment for use, loading and unloading equipment from delivery vehicles, equipment repair and inventory control. The role will include the ability to perform general workshop duties, providing support for the manager and field staff, and ensure accurate parts and equipment control.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Completion of college/vocational or technical training preferred
  • Ability to Weld an asset
  • Ability to operate a lift truck an asset
  • General knowledge or electricity and electrical circuits an asset
  • Appropriate credentials and certifications
  • Possess a valid drivers license
  • Proven mechanical abilities, and strong working knowledge of mechanical application and repair techniques
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance in the performance of all mechanical procedures
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the shop floor
  • Complete maintenance and repair work
  • Advise shop manager of work that has been and must be completed
  • Check equipment in accordance with established procedures and charts
  • Check and change oil, oil filters, fuel filters and air filters
  • Fuel and service vehicles
  • Maintains records of work performed and the need for future servicing.
  • Clean and maintain shop facilities and equipment
  • Assist the shop team in performing moderate to complex overhaul and repair work on pumps, engines and other necessary power equipment.
  • Use a variety of testing equipment to determine malfunctions and the need for repair
  • Drive vehicles as needed.
  • Perform other related work as required and assigned.
