Description Join Morrow’s Team as a Shop Welder Morrow Equipment Company is seeking applicants for Shop Welder to support our operations. This position is ideal for a skilled professional who is committed to safety and reliability. GENERAL JOB DUTIES: Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations associated with the overhaul and repair of crane components, tools and accessories for Morrow Equipment Company. Assist loading and unloading and Forklift operations as requested. Performs such special tasks as assigned by District Service Manager or Shop Foreman. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The fundamental duties of this job include the: Ability to perform required welding and fabrication tasks associated with the overhaul, repair and fabrication of crane and hoist components using welding equipment, hand and power tools. Basic understanding of schematics and technical drawings, specifications, and other forms of instruction. Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials. Working knowledge of weld set-up parameters (amps, volts, etc.). Ability to use conventional and precision measuring instruments as required. Working knowledge of finish grinding applications using manual and power tools. Familiar with process inspection, certification and documentation. Ability to perform welding equipment maintenance as required. Basic knowledge of electrical, gearbox, hoist and crane hardware systems as required. Knowledge of and ability to set up and assist rigging for loading and unloading trucks. Commitment to safeguarding tools and equipment belonging to the Company. Understanding and proper use of Company supplied safety equipment as required, including hard hats, safety glasses, body harnesses, etc. in compliance with Company policy. Ability to represent the Company in a professional manner. Ability to assist the District Service Manager and Shop Foreman in observance of all safety practices and shop maintenance where applicable. Ability and willingness to work overtime to accommodate the needs of the business. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work at heights as required. Requirements TECHNICAL SKILLS/LICENSES REQUIRED: Technical skills and licenses that may be required in this position include: The requirement to have a current welding certification. Successful completion of an internal welding test. Minimum one-year experience in various forms of welding. The requirement to maintain a valid State driver's license (mandatory). Protective clothing/equipment required: Work shirt with sleeves, Long work pants, 9 – inch industrial all leather work boots (preferably steel toed), hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, lanyard, harness and fall protection.
