GENERAL ASSISTANT (SHOPFLOOR AND WAREHOUSE)

Job Title: General Assistant (Shop floor and Warehouse)

Salary: £ 12.50/hr

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong communication and task management skills
• Pay attention to stock replenishment
• Comfortable with hands on work and heavy lifting up to 25 kg
• Experience in using forklift and counterbalance is desirable
• Previous experience in a retail / warehouse environment will be an advantage

• Provide excellent customer service including dealing with customer queries and product knowledge at all times
• Carry out daily stock count for ordering
• Monitor any product that is out of stock and report to the store management team immediately
• Ensure the shelves are filled, and complete GAP replenishment and store requests
• Pick stocks to fulfil customer orders
• Make sure all items displayed must have price label with correct description and price
• Ensure products are organised and displayed neat and tidy
• Keep the shop floor clean and tidy according to the Company’s visual merchandising standards
• Ensure all promotional items are placed in the correct location
• Make sure products are in rotation - first in, first out (short dated item in front and longer dated item in the back)
• Check the best before date of products (any product’s BBD less than two months must be removed from the shelves and report to the shop floor supervisor immediately)
• Reporting damaged and out of date products to the store management team immediately
• Ensure fresh and frozen items are put back into the correct fridge / freezer immediately
• Ensure no trollies or baskets are left on the shop floor
• Work with other colleagues and engage in stock control such as replenishment of stock. Heavy lifting when necessary and carrying/moving stock short distances
• Pick stock to complete customer orders, complete GAP replenishments and store requests
• Load and unload goods from and to vehicles
• Work with other colleagues to process and receive deliveries. This includes checking the quantity , quality and BBD, as well as organising and placing the stocks neatly
• Ensure stock is put away in the correct location and stacked safely and neatly when put away including incoming stock, store or customer returns
• Recycle cardboard and shrink wrapping in appropriate method
• Keep the warehouse clean, safe and tidy
• Monitor any product that is out of stock and report to the store management team immediately
• Report all safety hazards and risk factors to a member of the store management team immediately
• Take initiative and support other departments as needed or when requested by store management team
