Position Available: Shopify E-commerce Operations Manager Location: Remote; Sri Lanka Hours: Full-time – 5:30am – 1:30pm, IST Colombo Are you a highly organised, detail-driven e-commerce professional with strong Shopify expertise, ready to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of an online store and make a real impact? We’re seeking a Shopify E-commerce Operations Manager to manage and maintain the backend and storefront operations of a Shopify store. This role is responsible for ensuring products, inventory, orders, and site content are accurate, up to date, and running smoothly. You’ll play a critical role in supporting the customer experience and ensuring the Shopify platform operates efficiently, reliably, and in line with the brand. This is a hands-on, operational role focused on Shopify proficiency, accuracy, and execution rather than marketing strategy. Your main responsibilities & experience: Shopify Storefront Management: Manage and maintain the Shopify storefront and admin backend, ensuring the site is always live, functional, and accurate. Update homepage content, collections, featured products, banners, and site structure while ensuring brand consistency across the store. Product & Inventory Management: Create, upload, and manage product listings within Shopify, including titles, descriptions, pricing, SKUs, variants, images, and collections. Monitor inventory levels, update stock availability, manage out-of-stock items, and support product launches, updates, and discontinuations with high accuracy. E-commerce Backend Operations: Oversee order processing, fulfilment workflows, shipping statuses, and payment confirmations. Manage Shopify apps and third-party integrations related to payments, shipping, fulfilment, and customer experience. Troubleshoot backend issues and escalate technical matters where required. Order & Customer Support: Handle order-related enquiries, returns, exchanges, and refunds. Investigate fulfilment or system issues and resolve them efficiently while maintaining clear, accurate records in Shopify. Accuracy, Reporting & Optimisation: Monitor daily store activity, identify discrepancies across orders, inventory, or listings, and maintain clean, accurate data. Prepare basic reports on sales, inventory movement, and operational performance, and flag opportunities for process improvement. What your profile will look like: Must Have: Demonstrated hands-on experience managing a Shopify store backend. Strong experience with product uploads, inventory management, and order processing in Shopify. High attention to detail and strong organisational skills. Experience working with Shopify apps and third-party integrations. Ability to work independently and manage recurring operational tasks reliably. Preferred: Experience working with fulfilment partners or 3PLs. Experience supporting product-based or DTC e-commerce brands.
