JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for skilled Marine Engineers to join our teams in Shetland. The suitable candidate will be an experienced, competent Marine Engineer, capable of undertaking work to recognised standards. Ideally the candidate will have a marine engineering background.
The position is based in Shetland on a full-time basis. There are options for shift work, if preferred. Contact us regarding relocation assistance.

EXPERIENCE

· Knowledge of various vessel stern-gear and maintenance/repair including polishing propellers, uncoupling, removing and checking tailshafts for true, replacing bearings and applying grease etc.
· Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
· Practical understanding of safe methods of work.

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

· Prepare technical reports for use by engineering, management, or sales personnel.
· Perform major and specialised mechanical overhaul and repair work on marine engines and related marine equipment and systems using schematic charts and technical manuals.
· Repair and maintain hydraulic equipment and valves.
· Assist in fabrication of equipment/machining of parts.
· Work within a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility and initiative.
· Observe all legislated health & safety requirements as well as established workplace safety procedures.
· Display a positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to get the job done.
· Able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
