WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

We are looking for a Junior and Intermediate Shoring Designers/Engineers[KT1] based in our Toronto office.

  • The Shoring Designer/Engineer is responsible for the design and field review of temporary works required for building and bridge construction, providing site support during construction, and working directly with contractors. In addition, the Shoring Designer/Engineer will be involved in base building structural design and contract administration on an as needed basis.
  • Design of formwork, reshoring, temporary shoring, temporary bracing, and other temporary structures to facilitate construction.
  • Design of jacking, falsework, shoring and roadway protection etc.
  • Actively participate in multiple projects simultaneously throughout project lifecycle, from client outreach through project completion.
  • Provide immediate engineering support to contractors in the field.
  • Review of complete and in progress works on construction sites.
  • Contribute to business development activities.
  • Participate in development of in-house technical tools and guidelines.
  • Such other duties and responsibilities as Entuitive may assign to you from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 1-7+ years of relevant experience
  • Professional Engineer licensed to practice in the province of Ontario (PEO), is considered an asset.
  • Experience in structural design and/or construction engineering for buildings.
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles.
  • Able to communicate ideas and recommendations in a clear manner, listen effectively and adopt and integrate ideas from other team members, including clients and contractors.
  • Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects on time.
  • Ability to work on both small and large projects of varying durations.
  • Ability to work in collaborative workplace where work and resources are being shared.
  • Experience on site and working with contractors preferred
  • Knowledge and interest related to embodied carbon is considered an asset
  • The willingness to be Entuitive.
