QUALIFICATIONS:

• Food Safety Certificate by Public Health (current within the last 3 years)
• Food Service Worker Certificate or currently enrolled or eligible for the program
• Must be able to adequately read and write English
• Good organizational skills
• Good understanding of Therapeutic Diets and portion control and understand the basics of food preparation, handling and storage
• Must possess a minimum of 2 years food service experience relative to an institutional kitchen and have a basic understanding of standard diets and the associated risk management issues
• Knowledge of WHMIS
• Must be sensitive to the needs of the elderly
• Must be in good physical condition and must be able to lift up to 15 kg (30 pounds)
• Must be able to work minimum supervision and in a team environment
• Demonstrated regular attendance at work
