SHORT TERM QUANTITATIVE ALGORITHMIC TRADER (F/D/M)

Your New Position: Join our dynamic team at EWE TRADING GmbH and take on the exciting challenge of working in short-term power trading. As a Short Term Quantitative Algorithmic Trader (f/d/m), your main responsibilities will include:

  • Driving quantitative trading decisions, particularly for our renewable portfolios, such as Wind and PV, as well as flexibility assets like batteries and electrolysers
  • Supporting our algorithms to make better commercial decisions by leveraging data analysis and market insights
  • Developing and refining trading strategies based on data analysis
  • Collaborating with other trading departments to enhance an analysis platform, improving our market outlook and future strategies
  • Working on modern cloud IT technology platforms to optimize renewable energy trading
  • Creating and improving analytical dashboards using Business Intelligence tools
  • Taking on P&L and risk responsibility as the portfolio owner

Your Profile: We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • An advanced degree (diploma, master’s or PhD level) in natural sciences, engineering, or economics
  • Knowledge of energy markets, statistical models, and time series analysis is highly desired
  • Strong programming skills, preferably in object-oriented programming languages such as Python and Javascript
  • Proficiency with SQL/NoSQL or any database query language is an advantage
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • A team player with an entrepreneurial attitude, a strong willingness to perform, learn, and a hands-on mentality
  • Fluency in both German and English, spoken and written
