About the role  An exciting opportunity is now available for a part-time, 3-month secondment as a Short Term Support Intake Officer. This role reports to the Disability and Support Program Lead in the Connected Communities Directorate. The Short Term Support Intake Officer acts as the primary contact within the Social and Inclusive Communities Team to accept, triage and process referrals into the Short Term Support (STS) program. This role facilitates referrals for residents of the City of Knox who are seeking support options and provides administration support to the Social and Inclusive Communities Team in regard to the management of client information. This is a part time temporary role based at Eastgate North.  We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met. This is a Band 5 classified role. Remuneration will be $80,377.95 to $93,517.76(depending on experience) (pro-rata for part time) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.  What you will deliver during this period: * Successful triaging of client concerns to ensure they have access to support and services. * Collation of data to inform future program requirements What you will bring to this role   The key selection criteria for this role are:  * Demonstrated experience in screening and undertaking a basic assessment to understand a community members’ needs. * Demonstrated experience in communicating with community members, including those from diverse backgrounds and those with specific needs resulting from social disadvantage. * Demonstrated knowledge of a range of community based organisations / options to support residents identified needs. * Knowledge of issues impacting on people who are homeless and sound skills in managing and responding to challenging conversations and requests. * Proficient in the use of a broad range of software programs and information management systems, with the ability to quickly learn new applications. Experience with client management databases (e.g. Carelink) and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint, is desirable.
