JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Shovel Operator to join our on-site operations team. The Shovel Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a hydraulic or cable shovel used in surface mining or construction operations. The role involves loading overburden, ore, or other materials into dump trucks, hoppers, or stockpiles, ensuring productivity, safety, and equipment care standards are met.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 10th Pass or equivalent.
  • Valid UAE Heavy Equipment Operator license
  • Certification in shovel operation from a recognized training institute (preferred).

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience operating hydraulic or cable shovels in a mining, construction, or similar environment.
  • Experience with machines such as CAT 6015/6020, Komatsu PC1250/PC2000, or similar models is an advantage.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Proficient in operating large-scale shovel equipment.
  • Strong awareness of safety standards and hazard identification.
  • Good judgment and ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for pre-operation checks.
  • Team player with effective communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Operate large hydraulic/cable shovels for loading operations in a mining or construction environment.
  • Load haul trucks with overburden, ore, coal, or aggregate materials efficiently.
  • Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure proper functioning and report any issues to maintenance.
  • Monitor ground conditions and equipment positioning to ensure safety and stability.
  • Follow production schedules and coordinate with the dispatch/haulage team for smooth material handling.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance, such as greasing, checking fluid levels, and cleaning the cabin.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, complying with all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Record daily operational and equipment logs as required.
  • Communicate effectively with other heavy equipment operators, supervisors, and field staff.
  • Comply with all site-specific operational and environmental regulations.
