As a third-generation family-owned local furniture store specializing in Canadian-made quality furniture, our vision is to inspire connections and create warmth in every home. Our passion is exceptional customer experience in every aspect of our business. For nearly 75 years, Smitty’s has been a trusted name in home furnishings in Southern Ontario. We value our loyal customer base, as well as our deeply experienced staff, some of whom have been on our team for decades. Our original location was based in Hanover, Ontario, and we are currently operating from 3 locations: Hanover, Barrie, and Kitchener. Our approach to the market with our primary line of business is to promote and sell the top furniture and mattress brands manufactured in Canada. The majority of our products displayed on the floor are made in Canada.

YOUR EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Completion of high-school and or college certificate or diploma.
• 1+ years of experience in a support or maintenance role.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written).
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail.

• Engaging and fostering customer relationships through in-store pick-ups & carry-outs.
• Moving, removing and placing furniture in the showroom & warehouse.
• Minor maintenance and repairs as needed in the showroom.
• Furniture assembly and minor furniture touch-ups and repairs.
• Wiring and hanging artwork.
• Receiving and organizing incoming furniture to the store.
• Replacing missing or detached price tags.
• Promotional changeover.
• Other store operational support as needed.
