Description:

ABOUT THE JOB

This position is a temporary contract until May 2025.

  • Complete product transfers between various buildings in Canopy’s Smiths Falls Campus utilizing a 26’ – Temperature Controlled truck (G and D Class).
  • Ensure that daily activities follow the appropriate company policies, SOPs and regulations.
  • Liaise with customer and ensure lead times are managed to meet service level agreements
  • Schedule, track and trace movements supporting product deliveries.
  • Develop delivery schedules, drop shipment strategies based on forecasted volumes and identify gaps
  • Promote safety awareness
  • Collaborate with various Brinks teams across Canada to provide service options
  • Certify seamless transition with employees/affiliates of pick-up and deliveries
  • Maintain an accurate record of inventory usage, transportation and asset records
  • Prepare and present staff reports on on-time performance, scanning accuracy and other SLAs using Brink’s Internal Software’s as well as Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Work with the customer’s shared documents, track and record logistic transfers
  • Update internal/external files to share details of upcoming transportation requirements, provide Brink’s confirmation and keep record of completion
  • Ensure receipt of manifests and related shipment documents from branches when required
  • Completion of daily & weekly reporting of operational status metrics with recommended action items
  • Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities
  • Assist with people management, discipline, staffing, training and issue resolution, as required
  • Prepare correspondence as appropriate and necessary
  • Assist with budget preparation and administration
  • Daily contact and on-going coordination with various Global Services teams

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a logistics or warehousing environment, preferably in a distribution facility
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a logistics, transportation or distribution environment
  • Excellent decision making skills, ability to identify resolutions that both address the issue and have appropriate impacts on the cost of service
  • Previous experience setting and reviewing progress towards targets and ensuring goals are met.
  • Experience leading, developing and training other employees in a warehouse setting
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Action oriented and able to maintain composure under pressure
  • Previous experience reviewing and analyzing data in Excel, comfortable working in database applications (or/and demonstrated ability to learn new applications)
  • High school diploma, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • May be required to lift and handle multiple pieces weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • Hours may vary dependent on volumes, may require day, evening and weekend shifts
  • Preference for bilingualism (English/French)
