Position Overview: My Client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Shunter Driver to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers and large goods vehicles (LGVs) within the facility. This role is crucial to ensuring smooth operations and maintaining the organization of our yard.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid LGV C+E driving license (Class 1).
• Proven experience as a shunter driver or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maneuver large vehicles safely and efficiently.

• Trailer Shuffling: Move trailers/containers to storage areas or between locations within the facility.
• Coupling and Uncoupling: Safely couple and uncouple trailer units.
• Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections of vehicles and trailers to ensure they are road-safe.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines to prevent workplace accidents.
• Yard Organization: Maintain order and optimize the layout of the yard for easy access to trailers.
• Communication: Collaborate with truck drivers, warehouse personnel, and logistics coordinators to coordinate the movement of trucks and trailers.
