At McDermotts, we’re hiring a Shuttering Carpenter to join our dynamic team.
We are seeking a highly skilled civil or building projects and communicator to support the McDermotts function in Middlesborough.

To be considered for the role you must have:

  • Proven experience in shuttering carpentry on civil or building projects

EDUCATION:

GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in shuttering carpentry on civil or building projects
  • Ability to read and work from structural drawings
  • CSCS card (NVQ Level 2 or higher preferred)
  • Own tools and PPE
  • Strong awareness of site safety procedures
    Job type: Full-time
    Working hours: 07:30 – 17:00
    Site location: Middlesbrough

Responsibilities

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Constructing and installing formwork for concrete pours
  • Installation of peckerfill and stop ends
  • Adjustment of rebar as required in beams
  • Making bolt sets and setting into place alongside engineer
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans
  • Ensuring formwork is accurately aligned and securely braced
  • Striking and dismantling shuttering safely and efficiently
  • Collaborating with site engineers and groundworks teams
  • Maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship
