POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently looking for experienced Shuttering Carpenters to join our construction team in Dubai. The ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of formwork systems, concrete casting requirements, and site coordination.

Key Duties & Responsibilities1. Drawing Interpretation

  • Read and understand structural and formwork drawings.
  • Follow site instructions and specifications for shuttering works.
  1. Formwork Preparation
  • Measure, cut, and shape timber, plywood, or steel plates for shuttering.
  • Assemble and install formwork for slabs, beams, columns, walls, staircases, and foundations.
  1. Installation & Alignment
  • Ensure shuttering is properly leveled, aligned, and braced.
  • Apply formwork release agents before concrete pouring.
  1. Dismantling (Striking)
  • Safely remove shuttering after concrete curing.
  • Ensure the concrete surface is not damaged during removal.
  1. Coordination
  • Coordinate with steel fixers, masons, and supervisors to ensure correct placement of reinforcement within formwork.
  • Plan work sequencing to reduce delays and rework.
  1. Quality Assurance
  • Check shuttering dimensions against drawings before pouring.
  • Maintain required tolerances and clearances for reinforcement and concrete cover.
  1. Safety Compliance
  • Follow all site safety rules and wear PPE (helmet, gloves, safety shoes, etc.).
  • Ensure safe handling of sharp tools and heavy panels.
  1. Tool & Material Management
  • Properly use and maintain carpentry tools (saws, hammers, drills, tapes, etc.).
  • Report damaged tools or shortage of shuttering materials.
  1. Problem Solving
  • Highlight drawing conflicts or site issues to the supervisor.
  • Suggest practical solutions for minor adjustments (with approval).
  1. Reporting
  • Record daily progress and report to site supervisor.
  • Notify in advance of material or manpower requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Shuttering Carpenter in building construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural/formwork drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of safety standards and site practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
