Under the supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, the Bus Driver operates a variety of heavy vehicles, including full-size buses and vans to transport personnel, equipment, and cargo. This role ensures the safe and efficient movement of both passengers and/or logistics assets across various mission locations according to assigned schedules; using a minivan or full-size bus to transport clients, trainees, or company personnel; operates vehicle from individual or central loading area to certain points of embarkation; provides safe and comfortable transportation to and from one destination to another. Responsibilities Drives a variety of diesel- or gas-powered busses/vehicles (12 to 44 passenger seat) to transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule. Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort. Complies with local traffic regulations and reports delays or accidents. Loads and unloads baggage or express items checked by passengers. Transport students between pickup points and school. Oversees and ensures safety of all passengers by adhering to speed limit signs and designated pick-up/ drop off areas. Perform routine inspections at the start and end of shifts, check brakes, tires, lights, engine/ transmission oil, coolant, and fuel levels. Minor maintenance tasks, such as refueling may also be performed. Maintain the bus in a safe operating condition through prescribed daily vehicle inspections. Report mechanical defects and malfunctions to the supervisor. Maintain the bus in clean condition, including interior windows, seats, dash area, and floors. Accurately complete daily paperwork Attendance Pre/post-trip inspections. Operate buses on scheduled routes in accordance with specified time schedules. Pick up and discharge passengers at established bus stops, ensuring adherence to traffic laws, speed limits, and road safety protocols. Follows all Base regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Immediately report all safety hazards May be required to work weekends, holidays, early and late shifts Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must have a driver’s country of origin license. Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Heavy Driver’s License as required Experience: At minimum Four (4) years’ experience Skills & Technology Used: The ability to troubleshoot, determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. English proficiency Reading & Speaking Level 2, Writing Level 1. Requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation, and teamwork. Must exercise discretion and good sound judgment. Excellent situation awareness. Capable of performing work while wearing personnel protective equipment. Physical Activities: Heavy Work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to change tires or secure cargo. Capacity for prolonged sitting during long haul missions across the AOR. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work. Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies Working Environment: Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh. Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
