Shuttle Driver (DAY SHIFT) Masonicare at Greenridge Place Per Diem Summary of Position:   Performs routine driving and transporting services.  Provide accessibility for medical appointments within established networks.  Ensures the timely efficient movement of materials and mail within MWH and throughout Masonicare.  Under the mission of the Foundation and the department by recognizing the elderly we serve as unique persons, requiring individual alternatives to maintain full lives in their later years.                Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  1.         Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, and objective, quality assessment and improvement programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards. 2.         Maintain the vehicles; drives them to designed service station for maintenance, repair and refueling.   Maintains record of use, mileage, repairs or service required. 3.         Drives truck, bus, station wagon or other hospital vehicles to transport Masonic at Wesley Heights residents to outside appointments. 4.         Provides suggestions to management to improve overall quality and day to day operations. 5.        Demonstrates supportive attitude towards patients, visitors and/or staff.  Communicates effectively and tactfully with residents/patients recognizing their age, needs, abilities and physical condition. 6.         Reports all unsafe conditions to appropriate supervisor including change in patient status, broken or malfunctioning equipment or anything that could be potential threat or danger to a resident. 7.         Understands and follows Universal Precautions as it pertains to their department.  8.         Understands chemical(s) used in their department under the "Right To Know" standard. 9.        Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.  Attend meetings as required. 10.       Performs other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: Education:       Less than high school             Experience:     On the Job Training      Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid CT Driver's License-eligible for passenger endorsement.
