Description The Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely operating a tractor and trailer while delivering pallets of product and dunnage to appropriate location in a timely manner. Job Qualifications: This position is considered safety sensitive due to the required operation of motor vehicles. Safe motor vehicle operation requires a constant state of alertness and awareness of the surroundings at all times. Perform Pre-trip and Post trip inspections on assigned vehicles Drop and Hook trailers Maintain accurate records of load placement on the lot Maintain clear communication with warehouse and distribution personnel Operate transport truck and trailer and box trucks exercising extreme caution to ensure the safety of customers and employees To comply with all local, state, county and federal laws set by the Department of Transportation Foster relationships with team members and other personnel to eliminate any potential issues Perform various duties as assigned Requirements Ability to read, speak, write and understand English to perform basic math skills (Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) Valid Driver’s License for your state of residency and adhere to driver qualification program Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or permit (Class A) The ability to pass and maintain D.O.T. physical requirements Previous Tractor Trailer combination experience preferred Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds Excellent customer service skills Must be self-motivated with a high degree of integrity and be able to perform job duties with minimal supervision Must maintain a neat uniform and professional appearance
