Overview:
We’re seeking a SHWEQ Manager to join our team in Waterlooville.

In this role, you will provide expert advice and guidance to the business while overseeing and managing the day-to-day activities of the SHWEQ Advisors.

We deliver specialist and sustainable, water asset and infrastructure solutions within the water, wastewater and environment sectors.

What you’ll be doing: Reporting directly to the SHWEQ Director, you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement and ensuring the effective operational delivery of Safety, Health, Wellbeing, Environmental, and Quality (SHWEQ) standards. • Deputise for the SHWEQ Director as and when required. • In collaboration with the SHWEQ and Compliance Advisor, conduct Management System auditing. • Direct Client engagement and support, remaining the primary point of contact for day-to-day SHWEQ activities and communication. • Lead and develop the SHWEQ Advisors. • Lead and support incident investigations, root causes analysis and lessons learnt. • Carry out site, depot and facilities, pre-construction inspections. • Manage regional SHWEQ enhancement plans relating to operational sites and facilities. • Carry out contractor audits, reviews and approvals. • Undertake and lead SHWEQ improvement projects to drive industry best practise. • Attendance and contribution to client and third-party seminars, whilst obtaining learning and development opportunities for the business. Who we’re looking for:

  • Construction (Design and Management) experience, particularly in the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer.
  • Experience of supporting behaviour and cultural programmes.
  • Membership of a professional body (IOSH, IIRSM, IEMA), preferably CMIOSH.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent preferred; NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum.
  • Experience of writing policies and procedures.
  • Proven and effective Root Cause Analysis techniques.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently to problem solve.
  • Full clean UK driving licence and a willingness to travel UK wide with some overnight stays.
  • A good communicator with the ability to engage with employees at all levels.
