Requisition Title: SIA – CHM242H5F Introductory Organic Chemistry I (Tutorial Leader)
Position Type: Tutorial Leader
Course Title: CHM242H5F Introductory Organic Chemistry I
Course Description: Fundamentals of organic chemistry emphasizing reactions of alkanes and alkenes. The first half of a two-course sequence (with CHM243H5) required in the Chemistry major and specialist programs.
Number of Positions (est): 4 positions. * Positions are dependent on actual course enrolment, and are not guaranteed.
Course Enrolment (est): 350 students
Hours of work (est): 30 hours

Sessional dates of appointment: September 2025 – December 2025
Salary: CUPE3902 Unit 3 Salaries. The rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Qualifications: B.Sc. in Chemistry and/or Biochemistry. Sound knowledge in contents covered in the course required. Previous TA experience working with undergraduate students in Chemistry laboratory and/or tutorial setting an asset to be able to demonstrate and deliver course content consistently within the UofT’s standards. Good communication skills are required as well.
Description of Duties: Duties will include laboratory demonstrations, leading tutorials, marking laboratory reports, and/or quizzes/assignments. May also include invigilation of term tests and/or final exam.
