This role is ideal for a talented designer who is passionate about creating functional and visually appealing signs for businesses, events, and other projects.

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Sign Designer with strong experience in creating both layout files and production-ready files for manufacturing. This role requires a keen eye for design, technical proficiency in sign industry software, and a solid understanding of the entire sign-making process from concept through fabrication including electrical and non-electrical signs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of experience in sign design, graphic design, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Strong understanding of production requirements for different types of signage (vinyl, routed letters, illuminated signs, etc.).
  • Experience preparing cut paths, layers, and vector files for CNC, plotters, or printers.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings or site plans (a plus).
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Experience designing signs or in the signage industry is a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledge of sign production processes and materials (vinyl, acrylic, metal, etc.) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of color theory, typography, and design principles.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce designs that are both creative and practical.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience working with permit drawings or submittal packages.
  • Familiarity with fabrication machinery: CNC routers, plotters, printers.
  • Working knowledge of ADA signage guidelines and UL standards for illuminated signage.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Create custom sign designs, graphics, wayfinding signs, dimensional signs, and more, based on client needs and specifications.
  • Collaborate with our client services team to understand their design requirements and provide professional advice on design, material selection, and functionality.
  • Ensure designs comply with brand guidelines and sign codes.
  • Develop precise, clean, and organized production files ready for fabrication.
  • Maintain file management standards and naming conventions.
  • Use design software such as Adobe Illustrator to create visually appealing sign concepts and layouts.

  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure designs are correctly executed, meeting quality and design standards.
  • Stay updated on design trends, materials, and production techniques to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects, meeting deadlines and exceeding client expectations.
