POSITION SUMMARY

• Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant positions available in the Signal Newspaper English Department.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrates writing experience.
• Demonstrates general knowledge of CSU Stanislaus.
• Demonstrates excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation.
• Demonstrates prior experience working in teams/groups.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of AP Style.
• It is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent demonstrates fluency in written and spoken word Spanish.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
• Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.

• Duties include but are not limited to:
• Attend one-hour training session per week with lead editor and/or faculty representative.
• Produce original content (enterprise, breaking news coverage, and multimedia features).
• Schedule, plan, edit and post stories from reporters and other editors.
• Contribute to story budget production and updated.
• Attend weekly staff meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
