Job Opportunity Job ID: 51736 Positions Location: Ionia, MI Job Description General Purpose of Description: Positions Location: Ionia, MI Job Description General Purpose of Job: Provide appropriate patient treatment consistent with the physician orders, treatment plan and direction of the Physical Therapist in a safe manner consistent with safety policies in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Clearly and accurately document actions taken according to the standards and guidelines of the Association of Physical Therapy Assistants (APTA). Provide instruction to ancillary staff such as Aides and Athletic Trainers for patient treatment. Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position. Provides patient treatment consistent with physician orders and treatment plan of the Physical Therapist. Directs ancillary staff in treatment regimens for patients. Complies with governmental standards and regulations including but not limited to those involving safety issues. Instructs patient/family in home exercise program. Communicates with ordering Physician and/or Physical Therapist on order clarification, patient progress or treatment plans. Performs appropriate documentation of all treatments according to the established criteria. Instructs patient in use of rehabilitative equipment. Job Requirements General Requirements Licensed in the State of MI as a PTA Current BLS certification Work Experience Minimum of two years experience in a clinic setting. Previous Sports Medicine experience preferred Education Completion of a Physical Therapy Assistant program. Specialized Knowledge and Skills Interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, families, physicians, nurses and other healthcare associates. Demonstrate excellent verbal, written and oral communication skills.
