WHAT YOU DO AT AMD CHANGES EVERYTHING

We care deeply about transforming lives with AMD technology to enrich our industry, our communities, and the world. Our mission is to build great products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences – the building blocks for the data center, artificial intelligence, PCs, gaming and embedded. Underpinning our mission is the AMD culture. We push the limits of innovation to solve the world’s most important challenges. We strive for execution excellence while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

In this position, you will be part of the 3rd Party Analog Mixed Signal IPCR Design Analysis / CAD team. Parallel teams within the AMD Circuit Technology division include Analog Mixed Signal Design, Custom Layout Design, and Post Silicon Analog Design Characterization.

  • During the chip development cycle, the team’s focus is to review licensed Analog Mixed Signal (AMS) circuit designs received from 3rd party vendors. Designs include next generation USB, PCIE5, LPDDR circuit blocks etc. Reviews conducted: alignment to design specifications/contracts, electrical design review, and interoperability for chip flows/adjacent AMD design blocks. Work/coordinate with AMD internal teams and 3rd IP vendor to resolve problems detected as a result of reviews. Detection of critical issues, well before product silicon manufacture, helps AMD maintain development schedules and mitigate the potential for considerable revenue loss. Your efforts will enable ASIC chip solutions to become AMD’s next gen products within the international marketplace.

An outstanding aspect of our team is the breadth of electrical/design flow and circuit topology knowledge our teams work involves. Sustained focus on cross training between team members and strong mentorship for new members enables the high level of positive and cooperative work environment required for success. If you have a passion to interact with and learn aspects of an entire ASIC design flow, such as silicon design methodologies, verification methodologies, and manufacturing, then you are the ideal candidate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibility for understanding, analyzing and ultimately supporting integration of analog/digital design components into the overall chip system/AMD product;
  • Self-Initiative to review flagged issues, analyze the problem from several angles, and then provide an assessment if the design issue must be fixed or if the situation is in fact ok.
  • Investigating and developing innovative ways of automating/enhancing analyses workflows;
  • You will use your combined hardware/software background to help build scripts and test cases to analyze/approve/endorse quality 3rd Party AMS designs.
  • You will interact with vendors outside AMD to review/discuss analysis results which indicate the design needs improvement, as well as interact with AMD internal teams for cross-referencing issues after design integration into the larger chip environment.
  • Improve and promote communication, collaboration, problem solving, mentoring, and training.
