Position Summary The Simons Center Program Administrator oversees all administrative, operational, and programmatic functions of the newly launched Simons Center for Computational Geophysical Flows. This role ensures the Center’s smooth daily operation, supports its research mission, and provides comprehensive administrative support to the Center Director, core faculty, postdoctoral researchers, graduate fellows, and visiting scholars. The position manages the Center’s budget and personnel processes, coordinate academic and research programs, oversee events and workshops, maintain internal and external communications, and ensure compliance with University policies. As the Center grows in scope and visibility, the Simons Center Program Administrator plays a critical role in establishing efficient administrative systems, developing Center procedures, and supporting the Center’s strategic initiatives. Qualifications Required Education:Bachelor's DegreeRequired Experience:2+ years relevant experience, including experience with overseeing office and program activities and administering budgetsPreferred Experience:Experience with student recruitment, admissions or career placement.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, along with the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism, integrity, discretion, and tact. Strong organizational abilities and a demonstrated capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, electronic communication, and database software across both PC and Mac platforms, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Familiarity with project management tools such as Trello, the ability to design and maintain websites and social media platforms, and experience managing and executing events further support effective performance in this role. Ability to work with a broad spectrum of individuals (students, faculty, staff, international visitors and fellows). Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $80,000.00. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
