Description
Company Description We’re looking for a frontline performance driver, someone who thrives in a high-pressure, high-precision Formula 1 environment. You will cut through ambiguity, remove blockers, and translate complex simulation initiatives into on- track competitive gains. Sitting at the intersection of Performance, Vehicle Dynamics, Aerodynamics, Software and Race Operations, you will lead the delivery of simulation activities that improve car performance, operational deci- sion-making, and race-weekend execution. Job Description Main Duties: Simulation Strategy & Opportunity Identification Help shape an ambitious, performance-led simulation roadmap and critical path aligned to the team’s competitive strategy. Identify inefficiencies, modelling gaps, bottlenecks or untapped areas where simulation tools, data, and modelling can meaningfully improve car development or trackside operations. Prioritise ruthlessly and focus only on what moves the performance dial Project Delivery & Execution Own simulation project delivery end-to-end, from initial discovery of performance concepts to deployment and validation with engineers and race teams. Build, maintain, and drive robust project plans with clear timelines, scope, resource needs, and performance outcomes. Lead cross-functional groups (Aero, Vehicle Dynamics, Software, Strategy, Race Engineering) with clarity and confidence. Stay ahead of risk, interdependencies, and scope creep with relentless focus on performance outcomes. Ensure everything runs at F1 pace, with no compromise on delivery and timelines Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Act as the go-to authority on simulation programme status, capability readiness, and performance impact. Translate complex technical modelling concepts into clear, concise narratives that gain buy-in from engineering leads and race-side decision-makers. Run reviews, technical workshops and capability demos that drive engagement, adoption and alignment across departments. Change Management & Adoption Help embed simulation thinking into day-to-day engineering and race-weekend decisions. Partner with People & Culture, Engineering Leads and performance groups to raise capability and reduce resistance to new methods or tools. Build practical training, onboarding and communication plans that meet the organisation where it is, ensuring new simulation capabilities are actually used, not just delivered. Track adoption and behaviour change, intervening early when processes drift or tools are under-utilised. Governance, Quality & Compliance Ensure all simulation work adheres to accuracy, calibration, and validation standards expected in a championship-level racing environment. Partner with data governance, IT security and engineering quality teams to ensure models and tools are safe, validated, and compliant with F1 regulatory frameworks. Promote responsible and traceable use of modelling, data and performance predictions. Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement Define the metrics that matter, from simulation accuracy to development-cycle gains to on-track performance. Measure and report against these KPIs with clarity and frequency. Continuously identify ways to scale, optimise, accelerate or increase the competitive impact of simulation capability. Qualifications and Experience Level: Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional engineering, simulation or technology programmes in fast-paced environments (motorsport, automotive, aerospace or equivalent). Strong understanding of simulation tools, modelling approaches, performance engineering, data-driven decision-making or vehicle systems. Ability to work fluently with technical specialists Outstanding stakeholder management, with clarity, composure and conviction at all levels. Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure. Experience delivering change and embedding new technical capabilities. Ability to manage multiple projects without losing pace, detail, or focus. Values & Behaviours We look for people who thrive in high-performance environments with ambiguity, pressure, and rapid response cycles. You will embody our values: Innovation: Curiosity, creative problem solving, constant pursuit of on time delivery Teamwork: Empathy, collaboration, and a commitment to collective success. Resilience: Impactful communication, confidence-building, and persistence through challenge. Excellence: Continual learning, continuous improvement, refusal to settle. Accountability: Ownership, urgency, and clear focus on performance outcomes. Additional Information Atlassian Williams F1 Team is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion. We are happy to discuss reasonable job adjustments. Compensation: up to GBP 0 - yearly
