WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Join tozero as our simulations intern, where you’ll have collaborate closely with our hydromet team to model our R&D efforts. This role is crucial as our R&D initiatives are designed to be scaled up to commercial levels, and the models developed will be crucial to for our data engineers to work with, directly contributing to the growth and success of the company. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in chemical engineering, chemical process simulations (such as HSc chemistry, ASPEN Hysys, OLI Systems, METSIM) or a related field who is passionate about advancing recycling technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Simulation: Improve our simulation model and collect relevant R&D data points and form links based on kinetics and thermodynamics, to improve the current tozero model with variable black mass inputs. This will not only be limited to process simulation but would also include modelling complex chemical reactions and Pourbaix diagrams.
  • Financial and CO2 emission capability: Utilize the software’s capabilities further to display costing, enhancing technoeconomics and calculating greenhouse emissions.
  • Conduct Hands-On Experiments: Design and conduct experiments to collect necessary data points to further improve the model
  • Self-Management: Demonstrate strong self-management skills by effectively prioritizing tasks, managing time, and driving projects independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Hydro, Process and Finance and, to translate software findings into tangible outputs leading to sound scalable processes.
