KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or master’s (preferred) degrees in engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in simulation software and programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Python, C++).
  • Knowledge of machine learning and data analytics.
  • Extensive experience in ANSYS FEA and CFD or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in industry related simulation, modelling, and data analytics.
  • Proven track record in leading technical teams and managing projects related to modelling and simulation.
  • Significant experience in developing and applying simulation models to solve complex business or engineering problems.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and deliver results within deadlines.
  • Excellent team leadership and mentorship abilities, with a focus on developing engineers and modellers.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in model development, data analysis, and result interpretation.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

This role lead the development and implementation of an advanced modelling and simulation group to support various projects in all the divisions of James Fisher. This role involves managing a team of engineers and scientists, overseeing the creation of simulation models, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of simulation results. The Modelling and Simulation Manager will work closely with other departments to integrate simulation tools into the overall project workflow and provide valuable insights for decision-making and accelerate the development time.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and implementation of simulation models to support various projects and initiatives. Multi-physics modeling experience is required (acoustic, CFD, FEA, EMC, Electronics…)
  • Create and manage a team of simulation and modeling engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into effective simulation models in a timely manner.
  • Provide training and support to team members and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of simulation models through rigorous testing and validation.
  • Analyze simulation results and provide actionable insights to stakeholders. Ensure results are calibrated to the real world.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in simulation technologies and methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for simulation models and processes.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
