At Danfoss, we are engineering a better tomorrow – and to do that, we need innovative minds who are ready to model, simulate, and drive future-ready power solutions. We’re currently looking for a Simulation Specialist to join our Simulations & Control Department in the Marine and Power Conversion business.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the development of advanced control systems, power conversion, and performance optimization for industrial and marine applications. You’ll work alongside a highly skilled R&D team and contribute to cutting-edge simulation frameworks used across our product development lifecycle.

BACKGROUND & SKILLS

We imagine you have a strong technical foundation and an analytical mindset, with the ability to simplify complexity through simulation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, or similar
  • 3+ years of experience in system-level simulation of power electronic systems
  • Proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, Modelica, or similar platforms
  • Solid understanding of control theory, power electronics, and electromechanical systems
  • Experience working in a product development or applied research environment
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills – ability to work across disciplines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with digital twin concepts or real-time simulation (e.g., HIL)
  • Knowledge of marine systems, microgrid control, or renewable energy conversion is a plus
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation of simulation workflows (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Develop and maintain dynamic system models for power electronic systems and industrial drives
  • Simulate and analyze control algorithms, thermal behavior, and electromagnetic performance
  • Collaborate closely with control engineers, hardware designers, and product development teams
  • Support model-based development and verification processes in line with Danfoss quality standards
  • Interpret simulation results to optimize product functionality and improve design iterations
  • Ensure integration of simulation tools and workflows across relevant engineering teams
  • Document modeling approaches and share best practices across the global engineering community
