    About the program
    The F-35 Lightning II will deliver the most advanced capabilities and will transition the RAAF into a next-generation net-centric fighter force that can assure the nation’s territorial integrity and national security.

Responsibilities

Located in Tindal, NT, the F-35 Simulation Technician performs a variety of technical maintenance, system administrative and support activities on a wide range of products such as information technology equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software on Maintenance and Pilot Training Devices. Activities include analyse and evaluate products and related performance, troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time, install, operate, maintain, repair and modify equipment. Maintains effective customer communications and relations.

Duties

  • Ensures training device availability for mission readiness
  • Performs periodic and rectification maintenance to training devices
  • Troubleshoots technical problems, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications
  • Installs and verifies modifications and security vulnerability updates
  • Guide maintenance instructors, aircrew and contractor instructor pilots with operation of the maintenance and pilot training devices
  • Maintains awareness of current issues involving the F-35 pilot and maintenance training devices
  • Assist and advise the Training Operations Support Manager and Lead Simulator Technician as required
  • Draft, review and amend plans
