THE ROLE
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Apheresis Outpatients Unit.
This is a full time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours a week across either 7.5 or 9 hour shifts. The unit is open from 08:30 to 18:00 and currently operates five apheresis machines, where donors and patients attend for peripheral blood stem cell donation.
This senior nursing role is central to providing a safe, coordinated, and high-quality outpatient service for both cancer patients and donor registries. You will work autonomously as the nurse in charge, lead the day-to-day running of the unit, and ensure the smooth delivery of care.
The role also offers the chance to mentor junior nurses and healthcare assistants, contribute to service development, and work closely with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring excellence in clinical practice and patient experience.
