Description

We are seeking dynamic, clinically excellent individuals who enjoy taking the lead and ensuring that standards are continually maintained and improved within the clinical environment. You will need to be a highly motivated, skilled individual who displays enthusiasm, dedication and demonstrates the ability to work well in a diverse team.
You must be a first level nurse with appropriate experience in the Endoscopy unit. You will need to be able to manage the patient flow, should have experience of leading a team, and assist with health and safety within the unit as well as supervising and developing staff.
You should be able to demonstrate at interview past project/change management experience showing that you have the ability to initiate, manage and support change.
The units are committed to training, regularly running and supporting JETS and ERCP courses. Our internationally renowned consultants work collaboratively with the nurses to provide an excellent service.
We offer direct support from the Senior Sisters, professional development and lifelong learning study courses appropriate to the role. We are committed to further development of all our staff. You will also have the opportunity to work cross site.

Responsibilities
  • The ability to co-ordinate and lead team in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care with the multidisciplinary team. To do this you should be able to work within all areas of the unit from admissions to decontamination.

  • To assist and support the Line Manager in recruitment, retention and performance related issues, including being regularly responsible for the supervision and mentorship for unqualified, qualified staff and students.
  • Support the Line Manager for the clinical area in the management of budgetary control and resource management including duty rotas and skill mix requirements.
  • To assist and support the Line Manager with Clinical Governance, Health and Safety and Risk Management within Trust policy.
  • In accordance with the data protection act assist ward manager in ensuring own and staffs ability to input and retrieve patient and staff information from computer based systems and maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records.
