Description POSITION SUMMARY This full-time, non-exempt position provides leadership and guidance to families and volunteer mentors within the framework outlined and established by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Michigan and operates in compliance with the BBBSA Standards of Practice. REPORTS TO Site/School Based Matching & Match Support Manager (SB MMS Manager) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Recruitment Identifies potential new business partners to recruit volunteers/discuss mentoring opportunities. Attends and supports community engagement activities, as needed and assigned. Customer Relations Provide timely response to all internal and external communications. Matching and Match Support Conducts match introduction meetings. Supports programming and sessions with in-person and virtual logistics. Facilitates programming on-site and attends summer engagement activities. Assesses match relationships through appropriate supervision contact with all parties according to agency and BBBSA Standards of Practice with the focus on: child safety, match relationship development, positive youth development and volunteer satisfaction. Ensures real and/or potential problems and/or barriers are identified and addressed and resolved as early as possible. Ensures any match issue(s) requiring additional leadership, guidance or support are brought to the attention of the SB MMS Manager. Addresses and provides for individual training, information and support needs for each match participant to ensure a positive youth development experience for the child, and successful and satisfying experience for the volunteer and parent. Track educational or support needs and develop topics with the team for group training. Assesses reasons for match closure; conducts match closure procedures; and potential re-match opportunities. Identifies and promotes re-engagement of volunteer mentors (where appropriate) whether as Bigs, potential board or committee members, and/or donors. Communications Internal Keeps weekly log of any issues to review/discuss with SB MMS Manager, utilizing effective time-management strategies, keeping Supervisor abreast of critical issues as they arise. Reports all suspected violations of child protection laws, Agency policies and BBBSA standards to the SB MMS Manager and Program Director (as appropriate) immediately. Provides necessary program data and anecdotal information to the Marketing & Communications Manager for the annual report, reports to the Board and/or community, marketing materials, and/or any local or national surveys. External Shares stories and activities with the community through social media platforms. Speaks publicly to promote the program, activities and fundraising events. Ensures compliance with agency communications policies. Fundraising Identifies potential donors and/or fundraising opportunities throughout the Enrollment process. Attends fundraising and stewardship events, as needed and assigned. Other Responsibilities All other duties, as assigned. KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS Specific service delivery model tasks/responsibilities, key performance metrics and time allocations will be updated on an annual basis and may be updated more frequently based on Agency needs. Requirements Must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, or 4 year related experience. Skills and knowledge required include youth development experience, child safety indicators, written and verbal skills, proficiency using technology, commitment to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion, and demonstrated integrity. Work outside of regular office hours, including weekday evenings and occasional weekends, in order to attend to the needs of volunteers and families, is required. Must have reliable transportation for regular local travel. Ability to lift moderate weight, not to exceed 20 pounds, from time to time.
