SITE CHEMIST - HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT

We are looking for a skilled Hazardous Waste Site Chemist with extensive experience to join a reputable client known for promoting career growth.
Position: Site Chemist - Hazardous Waste Management
Location: Leeds and surrounding areas
Salary: £32-35k DOE plus pension
Previous Job Titles: Site Chemist, Technical Assessor, Transfer Station Chemist, Laboratory Technician, Lead Shift Chemist, Reception Chemist, Transfer Station Supervisor
Role Overview:
You will work in a hazardous waste management processing yard. You will undertake testing incoming materials for Ph, flammability and compatibility for bulking, and ensure goods are correctly labelled. You will complete all relevant paperwork and ensure compliance within Safety, Environmental and Company policy. This role is site based so would suit a hands-on person that likes being outdoors.
Experience Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a background in the Hazardous Waste Sector, with a minimum HND in Chemistry or related Degree - if you have enough chemistry modules
Ideally 2 years of experience as a Chemist within waste management
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience in direct client interaction is a plus.
Educational Qualifications:
Candidates should have at least an HNC in Chemistry or a related field such as Biology or Forensics, with a preference for those with additional Chemistry modules or higher qualifications. Additionally, the following qualifications or training are highly desirable:
Desirable Qualifications:
Forklift Truck (FLT) License
WAMITAB Certificate of Technical Competence (COTC)
IOSH or NEBOSH safety qualification, or equivalent
