CRITICAL QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT

  • HNC or Degree Level Qualification in Chemistry or a similar related field.
  • Experience in the Hazardous Waste Sector.
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Waste Regulations
  • SAP Experience
Responsibilities

OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE:

To bring value to the business by accepting and inspecting all incoming assignments of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste by following the relevant regulations and site procedures.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Ensure all incoming waste consignments have proper paperwork (Consignment Note/Duty of Care).
  • Verify paperwork is accurately completed and copies are held on-site and with hauliers.
  • Process and scan paperwork within 48 hours of arrival.
  • Record waste acceptance and non-conformance’s using the SAP system.
  • Perform safety checks for waste acceptance, storage, processing, and transfer.
  • Regularly sample received waste for internal lab analysis.
  • Inspect incoming waste to BAT requirements in Sector Guidance Note 5.06.
  • Ensure all waste is stored according to Sector Guidance and Permits.
  • Label all waste correctly with relevant information.
  • Route waste to minimize costs while ensuring legality and compliance.
  • Bulk, sort, segregate, list, and re-pack waste as required.
  • Provide technical support to other staff members.
  • Complete relevant outgoing paperwork.
  • Act as a site first aider (once trained).
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area, completing housekeeping tasks.
  • Assist other teams when required.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably required by the business.
