Description Job Overview: The Site Construction Equipment Operator position is responsible for the following: Operating heavy equipment to lift, move, or place equipment or materials Driving equipment and vehicles (including tri-axle dump trucks) between sites Performing basic duties associated with operating heavy equipment and vehicles Responsibilities and Duties: Operate various construction machines and vehicles: Bulldozers, Crawlers, Skid Loaders, Excavators, Backhoes, Tri-Axle Dump Trucks, Work Vans, etc. in a safe and appropriate manner Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and perform regular maintenance and minor repairs when necessary Follow all safety procedures while operating equipment Perform general construction and maintenance duties including, but not limited to, framing, finishing, underground utilities, final gradings, storm water management, sewer systems, pipe and shovel work, snow removal, etc Requirements Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED Relevant experience preferred with operating heavy equipment Familiarity with residential and commercial construction practices Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License Employment is conditional on verification of clean driving record, background check(s), and pre-employment/random drug testing Competencies: Communication Technical and mechanical skills Capable of working independently Available Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package 401(k) and profit sharing Paid holidays & vacation/sick time Supervisory Responsibility: None Work Environment: This job operates in the field and is mostly outdoors Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position and regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.in addition to weekends on an as-needed basis with the ability to work outside of or in addition to those hours as needed. Travel: Must be willing to travel and occasionally stay overnight at different job sites.
