About the role
Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a fantastic opportunity for a Site Engineer to join our team on the Highways A57 Link Road scheme, this role will be based at Ashton-under-Lyne, Manchester.

What you’ll be doing
As a Site Engineer you will coordinate a section of works, working alongside a team of Site Engineers and Graduate/Apprentice Engineers. In addition to this you will Lead and control site works, according to a specific discipline, for both self-delivered and sub-contract works.

Some other key responsibilities will be:

  • Maintain comprehensive records of site works
  • Carry out setting out and dimensional checks and understand limitations of instruments and surveying methods
  • Maintain survey records and produce as-built drawings
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (reinforcement, drainage, earthworks)
  • Supervise graduate / trainee engineers
  • Manage specific site operations, including subcontractors
  • Input into weekly programme and produce short term schedules
  • Monitor construction activities for progress against programme
  • Contribution to production of Permit to Dig, including briefing to the workforce
  • Carries out onsite Safety Inspections and Hazard Identification
