This is an immediate opportunity to join a busy commercial building team and provide additional support during a high-demand period. The successful candidate will need to be able to hit the ground running and manage the full-cycle Site Engineer role on a building project.
The Role Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager and wider construction team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day engineering and technical coordination of the project.
You will play an important role in keeping the project moving, ensuring technical issues are resolved, documentation is maintained and works are delivered in accordance with the design, programme and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle Site Engineer function on a commercial building project
- Provide technical support to the Site Manager and Project Manager
- Review drawings, specifications and construction documentation
- Coordinate subcontractors, consultants and suppliers
- Manage RFIs, technical queries and design coordination
- Coordinate shop drawings and technical submissions
- Set out and coordinate works where required
- Assist with construction planning, programming and sequencing
- Monitor quality, inspections and ITP requirements
- Maintain accurate site and project documentation
- Assist with procurement and subcontractor coordination
- Identify and resolve technical issues on site
- Monitor works against drawings, specifications and programme
- Assist with project handover, defects and close-out
About You To be successful, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder
- Strong experience working on commercial building projects
- Demonstrated ability to manage the full Site Engineer lifecycle
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and processes
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running
- A relevant Engineering, Construction or Building qualification
- Australian commercial construction experience
