PERSONAL QUALITIES & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in engineering with expertise in relevant disciplines.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of engineering best practices.
  • A relevant engineering degree and professional qualification (e.g., MICE, MIStructE) are desirable; ONC/HNC qualifications will also be considered.
  • Valid CSCS card required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to advise senior management on urgent matters.
  • Previous management experience in construction or support services, with an understanding of industry trends and technical issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Passion for innovation and engineering excellence.
  • Familiarity with BIM models and the ability to generate reports is desirable.
Responsibilities

ROLE PURPOSE:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Engineer to support the overall implementation of the engineering strategy and framework for a designated project. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient project delivery.
The projects are based across Leeds & surrounding areas

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the senior project team in executing the engineering strategy and framework.
  • Manage materials, plant, and labour efficiently within budget, ensuring safety and service effectiveness.
  • Communicate design information, systems, procedures, and quality control measures effectively.
  • Provide technical support and verify the work of project delivery teams.
  • Conduct audits and meetings to ensure project assurance, identifying best practices and areas for improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Provide coaching and motivation to project teams to foster high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with statutory regulations and customer requirements.
  • Oversee procurement, material control, and cost reporting processes.
  • Implement quality control mechanisms to ensure the project meets design and customer requirements.
  • Provide accurate progress and productivity reports.
  • Support the implementation of digital tools for efficient project execution.
  • Promote and uphold Balfour Beatty Values, with a strong focus on safety and sustainability.
